One thing I found helpful in college was to substitute fat free and 1 percent fat foods for high fat ones. For instance, instead of whole milk, get skim milk. Instead of getting the whole milk ricotta cheese, get skim or 2 percent ricotta. There was a book out in the 70s about how saturated fat contributed to acne. I found this made a big difference for me.
Another thing to be careful about is makeup. There are some that are designed for acne-prone skin, so always get these. There may be less coverage, but that could be a good thing because you don't want lots of grease on your face anyway.
Also don't overdry the skin. We tend to do this and strip the oils off. Then they end up reproducing more and this can
create clogged pores. Be careful about nuts as I found that pine nuts and high fat nuts were not good for my skin, though
almonds were fine. Try to keep a journal to see any correlations.
STRESS! Yes, that is not a helper. If you don't get enough sleep and if you are running around a lot that's rough.
Get your rest and do some exercise. Try to not rest your elbows or cell phone on your face too as this can create
problems.
Remember that you are a beautiful soul and that your appearance is just one part of you. Develop your inner spirit too
and focus on what is your true depth.
